Anne Hast Selected for Her Contributions to the Business Community, Career History
Washington, PA (February 19, 2018) – Anne S. Hast, DNP, RN, chief executive officer of Advanced Surgical Hospital (ASH), a physician-owned hospital, recently was named one of 2018’s Top Female CEOs from the Pennsylvania Business Central’s Women in Business.
The award was presented to 20 female leaders in the 23-county readership of Pennsylvania Business Central’s Women in Business. Honorees were chosen by the publication’s editorial staff and based on merit, career history and the honoree’s influence. Industry and geography also were taken into consideration, to ensure proper representation of the region. They are featured in this month’s issue.
“It is quite an honor to have been selected to such a distinguished group of women business leaders,” Hast said. “It is my privilege to work among the very finest medical professionals and to serve the surrounding communities, and I am extremely grateful to have been recognized in this regard.”
Hast joined Advanced Surgical Hospital as the physicians of Advanced Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation were in the process of designing a new hospital. During the past nine years, Hast served as the organization’s chief nursing officer before becoming its CEO. Hast is passionate about bringing the region the highest quality elective orthopaedic care, offering a patient centered, exemplary care experience for patients and their families.
Hast and her team have been successful in achieving the highest quality ratings, exceptional outcomes, and creating an outstanding patient experience. Advanced Surgical Hospital is the only hospital in the region to receive the prestigious Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience for five consecutive years. This award is given to less than 5 percent of the nation’s hospitals and is testimony to the exemplary experience created by the team of dedicated care providers at Advanced Surgical Hospital. Additionally, Advanced was named Women’s Choice Award for America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience.
Hast received her doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She serves as a board member and program chair for Physician Hospital of America, and was recognized as the 2016 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist (Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia), and was the recipient of the 2016 Business Women’s First Award, Pittsburgh Business Times.
Hast, a lifelong Pittsburgher, loves to spend time with her family including husband Bob, sons Mark, Matthew and Michael, and daughter, Rachel.
